Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature can not do without
music can help people form bonds at the strangest times
Many consider it to be the greatest creation of humanity, saying that it is creativity in its most pure and undiluted form. Many others view it as a method to escape the pain of life. Indeed, music can change the lives of many by capturing any emotional state or personal situation in the best way possible. But perhaps the most astounding thing that music does is connect people. So let's now examine how and why music can help people form bonds at the strangest times.
From religious hymns to funky jazz, from catchy Bollywood to ethereal ballads, there is something for everyone when it comes to music choices. One can consider it to be a buffet, where each person can fill their plates with unlimited amounts of food. This analogy also implies that music is astonishingly diverse and that no one can ever get bored or hungry when it comes to their musical choices. So how does music help us form bonds?
From a more personal viewpoint, music has helped me make the closest bonds with people I wouldn't have ever thought of befriending before. For instance, my closest friend today, was actually someone who I found on a fan forum for our favourite K-pop artist online. We sent each other personal messages and eventually exchanged phone numbers. That was the moment I knew, that I would not be able to think of music as just an activity to while hours away anymore.
Over the years, the entire spectrum and being of music itself has evolved and grown in a riveting way. With underrated being given a much larger platform to express themselves through the uprising popularity of social media, music nowadays is not just constricted to huge music labels and gaudy stages. It holds a much deeper emotional value, both to the artist and the fan.
Another example can be the new trendy wave of K-pop (Korean pop), which is gaining immense popularity all around the world. From popular groups giving speeches in UN summits to performing in stadiums in Saudi Arabia, K-pop is not just confined to the shackles of the East.
There are so many reasons to love music, but what is quite possibly the most beautiful one is that it can heal and help unite people.
