Shaping leaders for Tomorrow

“If your Actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, you become a leader” - John Q Adams

As a kid, whenever I was asked to introduce myself, I told people about my idealistic dream of becoming a Prime Minister. Sometimes, I found it absurd but, a part of that dream is still intact. I still dream of becoming a politician, a social leader. I say this with a lot of confidence because Cambridge has set me on the brilliant track of self-exploration and helped me to explore my leadership qualities and nourish them.

The school conducts Student Council Elections every year and, it is indeed one of the most awaited events of each session.

The campaigning period brings life to the school corridors. The nominees, their supporters and the voters seem to show an unmatched level of enthusiasm and excitement.

Meanwhile, the candidates experience assorted emotions - excitement, fear and nervousness.

Stepping into the those shoes, I experienced the same anxiety and nervousness. The support and succour are often followed by some negativity and politics, but at the end of the day, these are 'Elections', and they ought to have some game play and diplomacy involved.

Like every other candidate, for me in the end it was worth it. The gossips, the slander and the disquiet don't weigh anything against the joy of victory.

The Student Council elections for session 2019-2020 were conducted in the month of May and I was lucky to get elected as the house captain for Oak house. Every time I put on that shining badge, it gives me a sense of pride and confidence. It pushes me to deliver the most to the school in every capacity I can.

Likewise, the entire Student Council is all pumped up to make the most out of this year and discharge all their responsibilities in the best possible way. This entire process contributes in shaping leaders for tomorrow.

Conducting elections at the school level is a unique civic activity which helps students to become actively engaged members of the society.
