Qatra - our Endeavour for your Happiness

Qatra - Our Endeavour for your happiness

According to Cambridge Dictionary, Charity is a system of giving money, food or help free to those who are in need because they are ill, poor or have no home. Our school takes prides not only in academic success, but also on creating school ethos with the community by heart. Every day, in the campus, this ethos paves a way for all of us, to breathe, feel, accept and reward back the society. We are told not to GIVE, but to share our resources, our values and our happiness.

'Qatra - our Endeavour for your Happiness',  an initiative taken up by grade XII, Commerce students in the month of April 2019, has opened up the horizons of sharing with the community.

We realised that it is important for each of us to donate for various causes and make the world a better place for everybody to live in. Nothing could beat the joy we felt in our hearts when we saw the happiness in the eyes of our 'First Miracle Chaser', The Lamp Waale Babaji, when we purchased his 54 lamps for Rs. 15000/- as a result of free handed donation made by the Humanities and Commerce section. This 65-year-old man was found plodding on the roads with 35 lamps on his shoulder everyday in the neighbourhood, and our class teacher spotted him and decided to turn her students into better human beings, and teach us a lesson, which could never be taught through textbooks- The Lesson of Sharing.

The satisfaction of helping others is hugely empowering, and in turn, it makes you feel happier and more fulfilled, because you realise that it is really far better to give than to receive. This made us realise that we have much more to give to the world.

Our initiative 'Qatra' made us learn that even if Lily flowers live for a day, they are celebrated for their sweetness and fragrance i.e. living a true life means to live in deeds. Not just The Lamp Waale Baba ji, we aspire to many more miracle chasers to help, in making the world a happier place.
